Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya, SSSPPC and IQAC in association with Vijnana Bharati and ISRO, organised the much-anticipated "Space on Wheels" outreach programme at the playground of Tarai Tarapada Adarsha Vidyalaya today transforming it into a hub of scientific curiosity.

A two-day national interdisciplinary seminar, sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), was held on January 10–11, 2025, at Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya.The seminar, jointly organised by the Departments of English and Chemistry in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), delved into the theme "Unravelling Indian Rituals and Festivals: The Interplay of Culture, Science, and Knowledge Systems."

The NSS Unit 2 of the college received the prestigious President's Award in recognition of its exceptional service to humanity for the year 2022. Dr P.K. Mishra was felicited on behalf of the college.

After getting president's award as the coordinator of unit 2 of NSS unit of the college, Babita Prasad's name is selected as the recipient of Governor's excellence award for the year 2023.

The college's students competed in the three-day Inter-College District Sports and Games Championship held at the University of North Bengal, securing numerous prizes. Surya Sen College proudly served as the event's host institution, a decision made by the government.

Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya's Eco Club, in collaboration with the department of environmental science and NSS Unit 1 and 2 celebrated World Environment Day in Siliguri on 5thJune, 2023.organising tree planting drive and eco-awarness Thetheme for the day was 'Beat Plastic Pollution'. Resource person for the event, Dr Raja Routh, Eminent Environmentalist and Banga Ratna awardee and the Secretary of the Jalpaiguri science and Nature Club.
