NSS NATIONAL AWARD 2020-21

National Service Scheme is a flagship program under the Ministry of Youth Affairs And Sports, Government of India where student youth, teachers and the community are considered the three basic components. The operational aim of NSS is to integrate these three basic components and provide a variety of learning experiences which must develop a sense of participation, service and achievement among the volunteers.

There are two NSS Units at Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya. NSS Unit 1 was opened in 2005 and NSS Unit II was opened in 2010.

NSS was formally launched on 24th September, 1969, the birth centenary year of the Father of the Nation. Therefore, 24 September is celebrated every year as NSS Day with appropriate programs and activities.
