NCC day 26.11.2023 From 16th bengal battalion NCC ,CO .H.K PATHAK visited our college in NCC day with NCC flag hosting by our principal sir Dr.pranab Kumar Mishra in presence of col.H.k Pathak,CTO.NILIY DEB of Surya sen Mahavidyalaya with all Cadets and continue with an caltural program by NCC cadets.

Indipendence day 15.08.2023,on occasion of indipendence day celebration held in Surya sen Mahavidyalaya the cadets are participating in drill followed by cultural program held in college campus in presence of all teaching and non teaching staff and also principal sir Dr.pranab Kumar Mishra, president Jayanto mollick,CTO Niloy Deb and 16th bengal army staff major shiv Moni and Major Avtar singh.

    NCC stands for National Cadets Corps. It is the Military cadet corps of India that provides basic military training to the student of schools and colleges. It comprises of Army, Navy and Air Force. It aims to groom students into disciplined and patriotic citizens. Its headquarters are at New Delhi. It became active on 16th July, 1948.

Since the inception of Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya, the college authority had taken several initiatives to incorporate NCC wing in the College. It was under the supervision of our present Principal, Dr. Pranab Kumar Mishra, that the dream of incorporating NCC wing in the college has been converted into reality.

On 15th of September, 2019, Surya Sen Mahavidyalaya was granted permission to open NCC sub unit in Open Vacancy (Girls Wing) for the year 2019-20 by 16 BENGAL BN NCC.

At present the total strength of the cadets under the said category is 13 (only girls) In the coming years the strength of the unit is assumed to be increasing.

NCC Day Celebration:

Under the supervision of CTO/ANO Smt. Arpita Roy and immense support from the college authority, the NCC unit organised NCC Day celebration in collaboration with Ex-NCC Cadets Welfare Organisation & 16 Bengal BN NCC. The event was hosted in the college premises on 24th November 2019 (Sunday) from 9:30 a.m., amidst participation from various other colleges and schools. Dr. Pranab Kumar Mishra (Principal) and CTO/ANO Smt. Arpita Roy were felicitated by the Ex-NCC Cadets Welfare Organisation on successful conduct of the event.

Republic Day Celebration:

Celebration of 70th Republic Day on 26th January, 2019 was organised by the NCC unit in the college campus. The program started with National Flag hosting, followed by honouring the Guest with Guard of Honour where the cadets showcased their strength and skill through their parade.

College Sports Day:

On 8th of February 2020, the NCC wing participated in various events of the College Sports Day.

Campaigning Against Coronavirus:

On 24th April 2020, the Cadets of the NCC unit organised online campaigned for the safety against Coronavirus. On 21st June 2020, the Cadets of the NCC unit, celebrated the International Yoga Day, #Mylife#MyYogaFromHome#AyushMisintry. They have put together the videos of the different Yoga Asanas and shared those on Surya Sen Mahavidyala Facebook page.

Walk for Blood:

The Unit have participated in event like Walk for Blood, conducted by Siliguri Suryanagar Samaj-Kalyan Sanstha on 17th January 2020 at Kanchenjungha Stadium from 11 am onwards.

International Yoga Day:

On 21st June 2020, the Cadets of the NCC unit, celebrated the International Yoga Day, #Mylife#MyYogaFromHome#AyushMisintry. They have put together the videos of the different Yoga Asanas and shared those on Surya Sen Mahavidyala Facebook page.
